ULM IO – Saturday, July 29, 2017 is a historic day for the Lambung Mangkurat University. On this day ULM recorded a new history by declaring itself as the largest and leading university in Kalimantan. Lambung Mangkurat University started a new chapter in the effort to build a new building which in this case was financed by Islamic Development Bank (PIU IDB 7 in 1), where the laying of the first pile or ground-breaking was inaugurated directly by the Minister of Research, Technology And Higher Education, Prof. H. Moh.Natsir, Ph.D., Ak.
Rector of ULM, Prof. Dr. H. Sutarto Hadi, M.Si., M.Sc, said the 12 new buildings are supported by Seven In One Islamic Development Bank (IDB) program worth a total of IDR.384 billion from IDR. 2.7 trillion for seven state universities. He claims the aid received by ULM at most from six other universities. These new buildings include the building of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, the Social Science Laboratory, the Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, the Sport Hall, the Auditorium, the Post-Graduate Building of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the theater lecturer building, the Faculty of Social Science and governmental science building, and library building. The project is targeted to be completed in 420 days and endeavored by the end of 2018, 12 new buildings will be ready for operation.
In his report, the Rector hoped that the construction of 12 new buildings in ULM will improve the quality of both students and lecturers in research and academic fields.In line with the words of the Minister of Research on Technology and Higher Education, Natsir hopes that with the construction of new facilities in ULM will support the academic activities of students and lecturers and hopefully the ULM Accreditation will rise to A. In addition, the minister also hopes that the publication of professors in ULM will increase, both on a national and international scale.
