ULM Expand the Cooperation with the Universities in Australia

1As a follow-up the implementation of cooperation between Lambung Mangkurat University and Newcastle University Australia, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Public Realtion, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Yudi Firmanul Arifin, M.Sc was invited to be a speaker at a conference that held at Newcastle University Australia (12/04/2018). Participants who attend this conference come from different countries and sit together to discuss post-mining land rehabilitation. From Indonesia Prof. Yudi also accompanied by representatives of PT Jorong Barutama Greston (JBG) and Director of International Office ULM, Dr. Arief Budiman, SE., MMktg., Ph. D. In this conference, Prof. Yudi explained about how to rehabilitate post mining land especially in South Kalimantan area. Still on a visit to Newcastle University Australia, Prof. Yudi met the Dean of Psychology Newcastle University Australia to discuss the mechanism of sending 4 lecturers from the Psychology Department of ULM for further study of Doctoral Program. Students from ULM may also be sent to Newcastle University Australia for internship program. Cooperation ULM and Newcastle University Australia get a grand from the Australian government called the Colombo Plan. In this program there will be students from Australia who get scholarships and come to Borneo to learn about the management of Biodiversity especially regarding the behavior of Bekantan.
In addition to Newcastle University Australia, ULM also strives to expand cooperation with other universities in Australia such as the University of Queensland with a focus on engineering and 2 + 2 programs, two years courses in Indonesia and 2 years in Australia. Then with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a focus on architecture and social science, as well as the University of Sidney in the field of research and publication research development. ULM also has been started the exploratory thesis to get started in collaboration with the University of New South Wales Australia. From the cooperation that has been and will be implemented, Prof. Yudi hopes from the Deans to prepare the students and other things related to the programs that will be followed by ULM. (PR ULM)
